The year 2020 shocked the society with the Covid-19 epidemic and its consequences.

The Joseph Haydn International Youth Competition was founded to create a new bridge for young artists across the globe, to support and to motivate them.

The Joseph Haydn International Youth Competition takes place when at least 1000 participants have pre-registered. This guarantees the transparency, publicity and internationality of the competition.

The Joseph Haydn International Youth Competition takes place several times a year and accompanies the school and academic year. The purpose of the competition is to offer the young musicians :

• Concert stage
• Motivation for music
• Development of artistic personality
• Acquaintance with professional musicians and participation in master classes, concerts, etc
• Material support
• Increase of the musical and artistic level

The spirit of competition lies in the nature of Joseph Haydn’s personality. “Papa” Haydn supported directly or indirectly his orchestral musicians in Haydn’s Esterházy time with money or assistance before Prince Esterházy.

Musicians and composers consider Joseph Haydn in many ways like a father. After some time, Joseph Haydn has received a second name “Papa” in music circles.

The Joseph Haydn International Youth Competition is intended to be a support for the young musicians, just like “Papa” Haydn has once become a musical and financial support for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven and many other musicians.
